UPCL efforts to increase revenue collection and operational efficiency

Anil Kumar Yadav, Managing Director, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited ( UPCL) has given instructions to all the subordinate units area to come with the status of revenue collection and other operations such as billing efficiency, power losses, status of transformers and other metering related issues in a bid to increase revenue collection and improving operational efficiency.

The Managing Director has directed all the regional units to work in high alert mode to maintain normal power supply during winter. He also directed all the officers to ensure increase in the efficiency of distribution transformers of their respective areas and reduce their loss rate to less than 04 percent.

In a bid to increase revenue collection , the UPCL Chief  directed all the officers to ensure 100 percent recovery against revenue targets and to organize mega camps/camps in all sub-divisions and publicize those for general public.  All sections have been directed to issue notices against connections with outstanding dues and to recover the previous dues as well.

Connections with high outstanding dues will be disconnected and consumers will be informed through phone and encouraged to pay the bills so that action of disconnection of electricity connection is not taken.  The Managing Director directed to ensure special emphasis on 100% meter reading to increase billing efficiency in remote areas and hilly areas.  All officers have also been directed that if there is a need to increase the electricity load in their respective areas, they will encourage the respected consumers for the same.

All the Chief Engineers of UPCL were directed to hold meetings with their subordinate officers up to the level of Junior Engineer at least twice a week and monitor the operation related points on a daily basis.
