Patanjali ghee samples failed, manufacturer, distributor and retailer fined

Pithoragarh, Nov 29
ADM court in Pithoragarh fined on November 19th manufacturer, distributor and retailer of Patanjali ghee with a sum of Rs 1 lakh, 25000 and Rs 15000, separately after the samples of ghee failed in state and central laboratory.
“Three cases were registered against under sections 46/4 of Food Security Act in the court of ADM, Pithoragarh that delivered the decision on November 19th,” said R.K. Sharma, Assistant Commissioner food security in Pithoragarh.
The samples of ghee were collected in October 2020 and sent to state food laboratory at Rudrapur where the samples failed. The samples were also, sent to central government laboratory where these samples again failed in 2022.
After that food security officer Dilip Kumar Jain was ordered to lodge a case with ADM court on February 17, 2022, which fined the manufacturer, distributor and retailer of Patanjali Ghee.
