Keeping in view heavy monsoon rains and safety of pilgrims due to likely landslides, the issuance of Inner line permits for ‘Adi Kailash’ and ‘Om Parwat Yatra’ has been suspended by district administration till further orders, Ashish Joshi, SDM Dharchula said in a press communique.
“The step has been taken for the safety pilgrims. The inner line permits will be issued after the next orders, “said the SDM.
” In last 2 months of yatra this year, all past records were broken and a total of 52441 pilgrims visited ‘Adi Kailash’ and ‘Om Parwat’ in the first phase of the yatra,” said the SDM.
According to the administration, a total of 103 inner line permits were issued on July 1, that was last day of ‘Adi Kailash yatra’ this season.” The next phase of ‘Adi Kailash yatra’ will be started after monsoon gets over from the region.
