Research is necessary in Hospitality Management

Experts have called upon teachers and students to do research in the field of hospitality management at a seven day International Faculty Development Program on ‘New Practices and Trends in Hospitality Education and Research’ organized at Graphic Era Deemed University, here. The valedictory session was addressed by Vishal Mishra, IAS, Managing Director of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN). Addressing as the chief guest, he said that natural resources are used extensively in the field of hospitality management, In such a situation, it is important to prepare some dishes which use less resources and are also tasty. He said that it is very important to conduct research in the field of hospitality management so that solutions to the problems in these areas can be found.
Vishal Mishra said that there has been a lot of growth in the tourism sector in the last few years. People are coming from all over the country and abroad to visit Devbhoomi. For better tourism, good management is necessary. For this he asked the youth to come forward and take command. Poonam Chand, Additional Director of Uttrakhand Tourism Development Board, threw light on the topics of culture, religious places, food and hospitality management of Uttrakhand through slides. Certificates were also distributed to the experts and participants on this occasion. The program was organized by the Department of Hospitality Management in collaboration with Academic and Administrative Development Centres. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Santosh S. Saraf , HOD of Hospitality Management, Prof. Amar Prakash Dabral, Prof. Sachin Ghai, Prof. Rakesh Dani, Dr. Ravish Kukreti, Akash Rawat and students were present in the program.
