Film festival ‘Himpravah’ held at Graphic Era University

Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has said that films are a reflection of society and present its’ various aspects in a unique and creative way.
Satpal Maharaj was addressing the film festival ‘Himpravah’ oraganized by Graphic Era University as chief guest, here today. He further said that Uttarakhand is becoming a major attraction for tourism and for boosting tourism, it’s promotion and marketing, youngsters should come forward and create such works that will strengthen the state’s position in tourism sector. He encouraged young filmmakers to explore different places of Uttarakhand and shoot films there.
In ‘Himpravah’, young filmmakers showcased their film making and artistic skills in a creative way. Their films focused on various themes including culture, language, and issues of Uttarakhand.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Jasola said that Graphic Era’s efforts are always aimed at encouraging students to learn industry oriented skills. Today’s programme is a glimpse of this effort. Cultural performances were also organized during the film festival.
‘Himpravah’ was organized by Department of Media and Mass communication and Department of Animation and Gaming. Bollywood actor Shikant Verma, HoD of Media and Mass communication Dr. Taha Siddiqui, HoD of Animation and Gaming Dr. Ananda Karmakar, faculty members, jury members and students were present in the programme.
