Special intensive patrolling along Indo-Nepal border launched

Pithoragarh police in coordination with Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB), the para-military force guarding Indo -Nepal border, has started a special intensive patrolling campaign along Indo Nepal border at Dharchula and Jauljibi sectors, according to Rekha Yadav, Superintendent of Police (SP), Pithoragarh.
The special campaign is being taken after a meeting held with SSB officer in this connection on January 8th.”It is time of low water flow in river Kali as the contributing water sources at it’s basin in high Himalayan have frozen and in such time the possibility of crossing the river Kali to do illegal activities like smuggling, are much high,” said the SP.
“The special patrolling along Indo-Nepal border at these sensitive parts, is being taken to maintain peace and security at the border as well as to check illegal activities from across the border, ” she said. Such intense patrolling will also be taken with SSB at other points of Indo -Nepal border along this district .
