‘Padma Shri’ awardees of Uttarakhand felicitated Indonesian ‘Padma Shri’

‘Padam Shri’ recipient and famous Gandhian Agus Indra Udayan hailing from Bali, Indonesia was felicitated by other ‘Padam Shri’ awardeee from Uttarakhand at a function at a function held at Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, here on Sunday.

Agus Indra Udayan  is a world renowned social worker who has been awarded by many government and non-government organisations. Considering his outstanding social work, President of India conferred upon him with Padma Shri in 2020.

He runs Gandhi Puri Ashram in Bali, Indonesia where poor students are not only provided scholarship to study their respective disciplines but also made aware about the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence, love, simplicity and helping the poorest of the poor.

Speaking on the occasion, Agus Indra Udayan said that it is very important today to imbine the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence and helping the poor. He said that since he started his Gandhi Anand Puri Ashram in Bali, Indonesia he has helped more than 250 students who are alumnus of the ashram who are doing well in their lives and propagating Gandhian values. He appealed that rich people should help atleast one poor person or a child for a better world.

Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay, founder of Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre who has also been conferred with ‘Padma Shri’award along with ‘Padma Shri’ Liladhar Jaguri, ‘Padma Shri’ Basanti Bisht, ‘Padma Shri’ Kalyan Singh Rawat and ‘Padma Shri’ Madhuri Barthwal, felicitated Agus Indra Udayan for his excellent social works and initiatives.

Bakhshi, NRI Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, journalists Paritosh Kimothi, Hariom Singh, Chairperson Uttarakhand Child Welfare Commission Dr. Geeta Khanna, India and International book record holder orthopaedic surgeon Dr Gaurav Sanjay, senior pathologist Dr Alok Ahuja, senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr. S. N. Singh, senior physician Dr. A. K. Singh, President of India awardee Dr Sujata Sanjay, Dr Parteek Sanjay, Mrs Bhavna Sanjay and staff of SOS centre also felicitated ‘Padma Shri’ Agus Indra Udayan.

‘Padam Shri’ orthopaedic surgeon Dr B.K.S. Sanjay expressed his gratitude to all guest and recited a poem from his newly released book ‘Uphar Sandesh Ka’.  The program was presided by ‘Padam Shri’ Leeladhar Jagudhi and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Gaurav Sanjay.
