Air services still awaited from Naini Saini airport

B.D.Kasniyal Pithoragarh, March 5 Despite repeated announcement by government and air service companies, to begin air service from pithoragarh from first month of this year, the air service, plane or heli services could not yet start from this remote Border district.
After state government’s announcement that air services by plane could be started only after 2 months time from now, people were waiting heli services from pithoragarh to pantnagar and Dehradun after a Pawan Hans official last week has reportedly said that heli services from pithoragarh will begin from March 4.”I, think the company is likely not starting heli services from here in this month as whenever the air services get start, the airport management gets a week earliee intimation,”said Anurag Arya, SDM pithoragarh and manager of Naini Saini airport.
According to the Airport manager,even the licence for air services has not been renewed by DGCA.”the licence, that expired in June 2022, did not renewed since, as it is given only for one year on continuation of air services,”said the Airport manager.
According to the Airport manager, after state cabinet passed a bill handing over management of Naini Saini airport to IAF, no letter in this concern has been received by district administration yet.”The airport is being managed by district administration even today,”said the airport manager.
