Nepalese women who escaped from jail nabbed

Anushka, alias Akriti Budathoki, a 25 years old Nepalese woman, who escaped from Pithoragarh judicial lock up two days ago, was nabbed by police from a village near Thal market early morning today. .
“The woman had escaped from the jail with the help of her accomplice, who has also been arrested,” said Lokeshwer Singh, Superintendent of Police, Pithoragarh.
According to police, over 12 teams comprising 40 police personals, were formed to nab the culprit, besides alerting all the border posts along the Indo Nepal border and border of district with other districts following her daring escape..” The woman was arrested from Simar village of Chopra area, where she was hiding with her accomplice,” said the police officer.
The woman, who was arrested at international bridge at Dharchula by SSB sleuths on April 7, 2021, for allegedly carrying 1440 grams of charas tied to her leg, from Nepal to India.She was later handed over to police and was charged under NDPS Act. She was found guilty under NDPS Act by a Pithoragarh court on 8th August this year and sentenced to imprisonment and sent to jail from where she escaped two day ago.
