A new temple built at Sundardhunga glacier in Kapkot sub-division of Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand.

“We have sent a 14 members investigation team to the spot to investigate if the bio-sphere laws have been violated besides to trace the legal situation of the said land on which the temple has been constructed,” said the DM. Sundardhunga glacier is part of the Nanda Biosphere Reserve.

The local villagers of Bacham village have complained to the Bageshwar District Magistrate after the said seer, Balyogi Chaitanya Akash, constructed a modern temple in place of the old  temple of Goddess Bhagwati Nanda, the ancient temple of clan deity of local villagers. “The villagers objected only after the said seer started using the sacred ‘Kund’ of Goddess as a swimming pool and posted the pictures in social media posts,” said the DM.
