Iranian delegation visit Golden temple

A delegation from Iran visited the holiest Sikh shrine of Sri Harmandir Sahib and paid obeisance, here today.The delegation members also met with Head  Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh and President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami at Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

During the meeting with the Sikh leaders, the Iranian delegation invited the Sikh to visit Iran and also visit the Sikh religious places in that country.

The Iranian delegation members were honoured with model of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib,  shawls  and Sikh religious books. Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Iranian delegation was from a university with whom discussions are on to work jointly in various fields. He said that action would be initiated to explore all the  possibilities.

Delegation leader Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Abbasi said that Iranians have long mutual relations with Sikhs including other religions of India, so various activities can be done with joint efforts in various fields such as religious history, persian language, education and culture. He further said that talks with Sikh leaders were held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.

Vice Chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University Dr. Ali Abbasi, Chief Representative of the University in India. Raza Shekri, Dr. Abbasi’s personal assistant Dr. Murtaza Shani, University Deputy (International) Dr. Athar Jafri  from Delhi University and Ali Akbar Shah were part of the Iranian delegation.

SGPC General Secretary Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, member Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami and convener of the Punjabi Language Promotion Committee of Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee. Rajinder Singh Virasat was also present during the occasion.
