History of past 125 years of Uttarakhand forest department digitalised

Uttarakhand Forest department has digitalized all working plans of the department of last 125 years. This digitalisation begins from the working plan of Dehradun forest division of the then United province of Agra and Audh, of the year 1903- 27 and includes working plan of department for the year 2020 -30, according to State forest research wing head and Chief Conservator of Forest Sanjeev Chaturvedi.
“The digitalisation, that has now been uploaded in cyberspace, includes over 300 working plans of all forest divisions of state, in last 125 years and gives widespread information on bio diversity, wildlife, forest type of the state and information on managerial data over the years,” said Chaturvedi.
According to the officer, this digitalisation of working plans reflects history of forest management and wild life in Uttarakhand forests since 1903 till present times.
” Five employees of chief conservator of forest office, including Koshlendra Bhatt, Sheela Tiwari, Shailash Bhatt, Deepali Karki and Manish Matiyali have been honoured by the department on independence day this year.” These employees have completed the work of digitalisation in 10 months short time, for that they were honoured,” said Chaturvedi.
