Prof. Dr. Sanjay, President of AIIMS, Guwahati, delivers special lecture at Dibrugarh University

A special lecture programme was organized at Dibrugarh University under the joint initiative of the university’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Centre for Studies in Applied Biology and Ecology. The event was held at the Indira Miri Conference Hall of the university.
The programme was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr. Jiten Hazarika along with Padma Shri Prof. Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay, President AIIMS Guwahati. The keynote lecture was delivered by internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon, Prof. Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay. He spoke on the topic: “Discipline, Ethics and Excellence: Lessons from the Life of a Surgeon.” In his insightful address, he remarked that discipline and ethics are the true foundations of excellence and stressed that dedication, integrity, perseverance, and collective cooperation are indispensable for achieving enduring success in life. Prof. Dr. Sanjay highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, preparedness, and dedication in both professional and personal life. Drawing from his vast medical experience, he emphasized that true success is achieved not only through individual effort but also through cooperation, discipline, and ethical values. His inspiring reflections and real-life experiences deeply motivated the audience.
He further observed that the success of an individual is shaped by three key elements—behaviour, knowledge, and skills. He encouraged students to cultivate humility, positive thinking, and strong moral values, emphasizing that knowledge guided by ethical conduct ultimately leads to true excellence and meaningful achievement. Drawing upon his vast experiences in the field of medicine and surgery, he motivated the students and the audience with inspiring insights from his professional journey.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Pallabi Deka Buzarbaruah, Director of the Centre for Studies in Applied Biology and Ecology, who also delivered the welcome address. The event was coordinated by Dr. Angshur Bhattacharyya, Director of the university’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Dr. Jadab Borah, Assistant Professor, Centre for Studies in Performing Arts, also served as a coordinator in organizing the programme. Registrar Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, heads of various departments, faculty members, and students attended the programme.
