Dehradun Feb 28 Sakshi Sharma won the Youth Parliament titled Rastrawad 2.0 organised at Graphic Era University, here. Addressing the valedictory session of the Youth Parliament and Model United Nations (MUN), Uttarakhand Finance and Parliamentary Minister Premchandra Aggarwal called upon the educated youth to enter politics.
Aggarwal said that programs like Youth Parliament strengthen democracy and make the youth aware about the parliamentary system of the country. Participation in these programs increases the understanding of democracy and the ability to argue. Along with this, there is also knowledge of how to present one’s views. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to bring 1 lakh youth into politics, Aggarwal said that this is necessary to improve politics. He also asked the youth to keep politics as their career option. Supreme Court advocate Aryan Dev Uniyal told the students to do the work in which they feel happy. He told the students that no matter what the work is, it is important to be passionate. Dr. Vivek Goyal, Head School of Law, threw light on Rastrawad 2.0. Students from various universities participated in Rastrawad 2.0. Students were awarded in various categories of competition.In this, Sakshi Sharma got first place among the best MP, Nisha Sharma got second place and Divyanshu Puri got third place. In the All India Political Parties Meet, Pranab Singh got first place, Shubham Kumar got second place, Adhivesh Prasad got third place. In the All India Stakeholders Meet, first position was secured by Ayush Ranjan, second position was secured by Gurleen Kaur and third position was secured by Akash Raj. In the United Nations General Assembly, Lakshit Tandon stood first, Anjali Rana stood second and Vidhi Gaur stood third. Shamu secured first place in the Best Media Delegate in International Press.
The program was organized by the Youth Parliament Society of Graphic Era Hill University in collaboration with the School of Law, School of Commerce, Management and Computing. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University, Professor Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Director of Infrastructure, Dr. Subhash Gupta, Dr. Manya Gupta, Harshit Singh Jadaun, Divyansh Vashishtha, Stuti Bhandari, Himanshi Bhatia, Rakesh Tiwari and students were present in the program.
