Two more bear attacks reported from Pithoragarh district

Pithoragarh, Nov 25

Om a latest attacks by wild bears, a 65 years old person and a cow were injured  in two separate incidents, that took place in Dharchula and Munsiyari regions of Pithoragarh district, today.

In the first incident, Kushal Singh, a 65 years old resident was attacked by a bear as his face was badly injured while going to forest to collect firewood. “The injured has got injuries on his face and body and he is being treated at Dharchula hospital,” said B.S. Almiya, Range Officer of Dharchula forest range.

In another incident from Munsiyari, a wild bear injured a cow of Sundari Devi in Jhapuli sublet of Tomik village of Munsiyari. ” Our team is visiting the affected region and making the villagers aware on safety measures from bear attack,” said Lovraj Singh Pangti, Range Officer of Munsiyari range of forest of Pithoragarh division.
