Dr Gaurav Sanjay presented research work at 44th SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress

Dr Gaurav Sanjay, orthopaedic surgeon of Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, Jakhan, Rajpur Road, Dehradun presented his research work, co-authored with Guinness World Record holder Dr B. K. S. Sanjay in the 44th SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress in Belgrade Serbia on 26th September 2024. More than 2000 orthopaedic surgeons of 95 countries were participated.
Dr. Gaurav Sanjay emphasized, as India is growing economically, so are the road traffic accidents (RTA).There are nearly 5 lakh accidents in India and every year nation is not only losing 1.5 lakh people but bearing the burden of same number of temporary or permanent disabled persons, if they survive. He said that mutilated leg fractures are common after RTA specially in two wheeler drivers or riders which are challenging problem even for the most experienced orthopaedic surgeons. In order to save these mutilated limbs,there is need of multiple surgeries by the multiple specialists to save these limbs which can often end up with amputation, if there are not thoroughly manged.
Dr. Gaurav Sanjay presented a clinical research paper of complex leg injuries in 11 patients following road traffic accidents. All 11 patients were advised amputation in major tertiary care hospitals who were finally salvaged with multiple procedures and using Ilizarov fixator by the authors. India and International book record holder Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Gaurav concluded in his research paper that Ilizarov fixator acts as an essential tool in the armamentarium in such reconstructive surgeries. I addition to above, Dr Gaurav Sanjay and Dr B. K. S. Sanjay presented 2 more research papers related to TB and CP in this conference.
